| Is there
a any scientific basis for paranormal events such as
out-of-body experiences, reincarnation, ghosts, life after death,
faith healing, predicting the future or any other supernatural
happenings? Well, it all seems to hinge on whether or not such a
place as the astral plane and/or higher dimensions could exist as
this is where many paranormal events appear to originate.
Scientific
acceptance of any event hinges on the reproduction of that event
under controlled circumstances. But how does one demonstrate an
event that one can't see, hear, smell, taste or feel. If you
are able to initiate an out-of-body experience at will, you can
experience the astral plane yourself but how do you get a group of
people together so you all can have an out-of-body experience
together and at least verify what you experience with each other.
One of the problems is that there are very few people who are adept
enough to have a completely conscious out-of-body experience at
will. Another problem is - how do you get these adepts together to
conduct experiments. Don't forget, most people don't discuss their
paranormal experiences or abilities for fear that others will think
they're crazy. The following is a questions and answers
discussion of possible scientific explanations for the above
mentioned paranormal events:
What is the astral plane?
The astral plane is a set of dimensions or conditions that allows
energy and it's condensed counterpart matter to exist at a certain
level of vibration. The material universe allows it's energy and
matter to vibrate at one level, the astral plane or universe allows
it's energy and matter to vibrate at a higher level than the
physical universe. Both the astral plane and physical plane
interpenetrate each other at the same point in space.
It's very
difficult for the scientific community to view or prove the
existence or non-existence of the astral plane because astral
matter in most circumstances does not interact with physical matter
and can't be detected with any of the senses. The astral plane has
it's own matter and energy, the matter being condensed energy ...
the same as in the physical universe.
When you die, you raise your
vibrations and move onto the astral plane (or higher). Your
astral body is an exact duplicate of your physical body and allows
you to exist on the astral plane. The easiest way of proving the
existence of the astral plane to yourself is to achieve a projection
of your astral body into the astral plane with your full waking
conscious intact, you are then able to observe both the physical
world and the astral plane at the same time.
Where does the astral plane exist? and why can't we see things on the astral
plane?
The astral plane and the physical universe interpenetrate each other
at the same point in space, so you are in the astral plane now
except you can't detect it when in your physical body. You can only
see things that preside on the astral plane when you are in your
astral body and using your astral eyes. This is because your
physical eyes can't see light from the astral plane because it's
vibration is too high for them to detect.
If there are other dimensions what would
they be?
Science is comfortable with four dimensions sometimes using extra
dimensions to describe the cosmos or alternate universes or to help
in describing the mathematical framework of quantum mechanics. These
"other dimensions" are mentioned mathematically without describing
what they are in simple terms. So what are the candidates for other
dimensions? In our page on reincarnation we used a series of "what
if" ideas knowing that we have length, width, height and time. Time
being the dimension that allows us to move through the other three
dimensions. The following is a simplistic "what if" scenario
describing what may be other dimensions:
What if
the condition of consciousness with it's ability to
manipulate matter and energy as well as it's ability to understand
all the other dimensions is itself actually a cosmic dimension?
What if energy/matter
is actually a cosmic dimension? All the other
dimensions and other planes/universes seem to have
energy/matter at various levels of vibration
What if the existence of
"unlimitedness" - of largeness, of smallness, of
quantity and of time is a cosmic dimension? (This
can be thought of as a fractal in nature) (If you
think about it, a universe or universes may not be
able to
exist without a dimension that creates or demands no
limits for all the other dimensions.)
What if the existence of
vibration rate (of higher and lower
planes of existence) is actually a cosmic dimension?
A plane actually means a set conditions that allows energy and it's condensed
counterpart matter to exist at a certain level of
vibration. The physical universe has it's energy
and matter vibrating at one level, and the
astral plane
or universe allows it's energy and matter to vibrate
at a higher level than the physical universe. Both
the astral plane and physical plane interpenetrate
each other at the same point in space.
All the dimensions would
have to have the trait of being intertwined and
interdependent on each other. Also there are
undoubtedly more dimensions than we have
proposed here.
What would other universes
be like and where would they be located?
Other universe may be located elsewhere in time or they may also be
located at the same point in space/time but in a universe vastly
larger or smaller than our universe (see the concept of a dimension
of "unlimitedness" above). Distance has to be thought of not only in
terms of the three usual dimensions of length, width and height. A
universe that is far away in time or is unbelievably small or large
in relation to our universe ...is indeed a long way away from us!
How can the future be predicted? ...you
supposedly can't
travel in time, so how is it done?
The only way that the future could be predicted is if a sufficiently
advanced conscious entity (person) could travel in the dimension of time and
view an event or if a telepathic person were in touch with their
higher subconscious mind that had a sense that
could detect an event in the future. When you are in the astral in
an out-of-body experience or even after you're dead, you don't
necessarily have the ability to know the future. This ability comes
to those who are advanced enough to visit the higher planes or sense
things existing on them. Just because you've died and are residing
on the astral doesn't mean that you know everything - they're is
plenty that you don't know and the cosmos is still a huge mystery.
Where do ghosts exist?
Ghosts or apparitions or demons appear to exist on the astral plane
or a lower level of it. Many ghosts are thought forms created by
people in the physical universe but some are created by the dead but
few are actually the dead themselves.
Where do the
dead go?
The dead go to the astral plane and continue to work
through issues that they were dealing with while they were alive in
the physical plus they deal with new issues as well.
How does Faith Healing work?
Faith healing is mostly the process
of a person healing themselves - if you've lost a limb, you won't
get it back no matter how much
you pray or how much faith you have. However there is a lot of
disease that is caused by a persons subconscious being given
negative thoughts and through a person creating negative thought
forms either deliberately or unconsciously. Be very careful of what
you think of particularly when you're falling asleep. It's best to
forgive all, and hope for the best for yourself and all you know
and for the world in general.
What about UFO's
It appears that many visits by other beings may come from other
planes or universes rather than from somewhere else in our galaxy or
universe. We are not going to comment further on this subject
other than recommending that you read the following quotes from Jane
Roberts "Seth Material".
"The strange thing about your
flying saucers is not that they appear, but that you can see
them. As science advances on various planes the inhabitants
learn to travel between planes occasionally, while carrying
with them the [camouflage] manifestations of their home
stations..."
"I am quite sure--I know for a
fact--that beings from other planes have appeared among you,
sometimes on purpose and sometimes completely by accident.
As in some cases humans have quite accidentally blundered
through the apparent curtain between your present and your
past, so have beings blundered into the apparent division
between one plane and another. Usually when they have done
so they were invisible on your plane, as the few of you who
fell into the past, or the apparent past, were invisible to
the people of the past".
"This sort of experience involves a
sudden psychic awareness, straight from the entity, that all
boundaries are for practical purposes only. However, there
are indeed many kinds of science. There are a number of
sciences dealing just with locomotion. Had the human species
gone into certain mental disciplines as thoroughly as it has
explored technological disciplines, its practical
transportation system would be vastly different, and yet by
this time even more practical than it is now. (With
amusement:) I am making this point because I want it made
plain--this, dear Joseph, is a pun--that when I speak of
science on another plane I may not speak of the plain old
science that you know".
"Now back to the point. When
sciences progress on various planes, then visitations become
less accidental and more planned. Once the inhabitants of a
plane have learned mental--science pat--terms, then they are
to a great degree freed from the more regular camouflage
[physical] patterns. This applies to “higher” planes than
mine, generally speaking, although mine is further along in
these sciences than your own".
"[Many of] the flying saucer
appearances come from [such] a plane, [one] that is much
more advanced in technological sciences than earth at this
time. However, this is still not a mental-science plane.
Therefore the camouflage paraphernalia appears, more or less
visible, to your own astonishment. Now, so strong is this
tendency for vitality to change from one apparent form to
another, that what you have here in your flying object is
something that is actually, as you view it, not of your
plane or of [whatever] plane of its origin... The atoms and
molecules that structurally compose the UFO, and which are
themselves formed by vitality, are more or less aligned
according to the pattern of its own territory. Now as the
craft enters your plane a distortion occurs. Its actual
structure is caught in a dilemma of form... between
transforming itself completely into earth's particular
camouflage pattern, and retaining its original pattern. The
earthly viewer attempts to correlate what he sees with what
he supposedly knows or imagines possible in the universe".
"What he sees is something between
a horse and a dog, that resembles neither. The flying saucer
retains what it can of its original structure and changes
what it must. This accounts for many of the conflicting
reports as to shape, size, and color. The few times the
craft shoots off at right angles, it has managed to retain
functions ordinary to it in its particular habitat".
"I do not believe you will have any
saucer landings for quite a while, not physical landings in
the usual sense of the word. These vehicles cannot stay on
your plane for any length of time at all. The pressures that
push against the saucer itself are tremendous... The
struggle to be one thing or another is very great on any
plane. To conform to the laws of a particular plane is a
practical necessity, and at this time the flying saucer
craft simply cannot afford to stay betwixt and between for
any indefinite period".
"What they do is take quick
glimpses of your plane--and hold in mind that the saucer or
cigar shape [often] seen on your planet is a bastard form
having little relation to the structure as it is at home
base".
